Sylvester Stallone, an actor from Hollywood, has denied that he and his wife Jennifer Flavin split up because of a fight about their dog Dwight.
After 25 years of marriage, Stallone and Flavin have decided to divorce. According to TMZ, they had “heated arguments” over the Rocky actor’s insistence on getting a new dog to protect the family, which Flavin, 54, did not want. But on Wednesday night, Stallone quickly put an end to those rumors and set the record straight.
“We didn’t break up over such a small thing,” the 76-year-old actor told an American tabloid website.
He also said, “We just went different ways. Jennifer is someone I look up to very much. I will love her forever. She is a wonderful person. She is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”
TMZ says Jennifer filed divorce papers in Florida on Friday, after weeks of rumors that their marriage was in trouble. She has reportedly asked for sole ownership of their Palm Beach home before the divorce proceedings begin.
Jennifer is said to have given the Rocky actor divorce papers and also accused him of taking money out of their joint account.
Stallone’s publicist had already confirmed the news of the split with a statement that said, “I love my family. We are working out these personal problems in a friendly and private way.”
People thought the couple was having trouble when a tattoo of Jennifer on the Hollywood actor’s right arm was covered up by his dog from Rocky, Butkus. His publicist, Michelle Bega, said that everything was fine and that he just wanted a new tattoo.
“Mr. Stallone wanted to update the tattoo of his wife Jennifer, but the results weren’t good and couldn’t be fixed,” she said. “Because of this, he had to cover up the original picture with a tattoo of Butkus, his dog from the movie Rocky.
