Tyrese Doesn’t Want to Pay Estranged Wife Spousal Support in Divorce, why?

On Monday, Tyrese’s lawyer, Tanya Mitchell Graham, grilled Samantha about some of her spending from two years ago, including $1,740 on makeup.
When one of Samantha’s lawyers tried to cut off the line of questioning, saying it was irrelevant at this point, Graham defended it by explaining why Tyrese thinks it’s crucial. A judge tried to calm things down, but things will heat up again on Tuesday when Tyrese takes the stand.

However, Tyrese is willing to give Samantha Lee Gibson one of their other SUVs and has no intention of giving spousal support or the keys to his Range Rover to his ex-wife.

On Monday, the actor/singer will have a hearing in his divorce case to explain his expectations for the outcome.

TMZ has obtained new court documents in which Tyrese allegedly seeks to avoid paying Samantha monthly spousal support while also keeping a 2016 Range Rover and offering to let her keep a 2017 Land Rover Discovery.

Furthermore, Tyrese is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their daughter, Soraya Gibson, and wants their prenuptial agreement enforced. In addition, he would like to have the final say in any emergencies involving their child that are not related to medical care.

The divorce has been contentious so far; in her initial petition, filed in September 2020, Samantha accused Tyrese of locking her out of the house, which he denied. Tyrese argued that Samantha’s request for $20,000 per month in child support was “unreasonably high.”

To what extent Samantha objects to Tyrese’s request that she accept the less upscale Rover and forgo spousal support remains to be seen.
