Murder-Mystery Game “Glass Onion” Developed By White Claw In Partnership With Netflix

In order to promote Netflix’s upcoming murder mystery Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, popular hard seltzer company White Claw has partnered with the streaming service. Crack the CLAW is a special edition murder-mystery game developed by Netflix and White Claw to coincide with the release. The game’s release is both an advertisement and a collectible; it comes with official regulations, a script for the game’s moderator, and 10 role-assigning coasters. You have the option of taking on the role of a moderator, a doctor, a detective, a naive tourist, or even a killer. It’s a classic “whodunit” card game in the vein of Clue or Mafia, in which players strive to identify the killer among them. And a White Claw, or two, is the perfect accompaniment.

It has been said that the characters from Glass Onion served as inspiration for the game. In between shots, director Rian Johnson had his cast play the party game mafia to help them get into character. John Shea, the chief marketing officer at White Claw, released the following comment about the game:

What’s more, though, is that there’s more to come! White Claw will also host a social media contest where fans can win a copy of the game. Over the course of 24 hours, White Claw will post seven riddles on its Twitter and Instagram accounts, and the first person to successfully answer all seven will win a “Crack the CLAW” game. If they do so, they will gain access to a website that, once unlocked, will provide them with a promotional code for a free game. Fans must be 21 or older to enter (age will be checked at checkout), and there are a total of 100 games up for grabs in this giveaway.

Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman co-wrote and co-produced the mystery film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The cast includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as master investigator Benoit Blanc.

On December 23, Netflix will debut Glass Onion, a Knives-Out Mystery. View the official trailer here:
