On Sunday night, a man in Vallejo was killed after he was hit by a car driven by a person suspected of driving under the influence.
A 44-year-old Fairfield man, according to the Vallejo Police Department, has been reported missing.
On Sunday night, just before 8 o’clock, the 4200 block of Sonoma Boulevard saw a collision, prompting the arrival of Vallejo police.
According to the police, a 2013 BMW SUV rear-ended a disabled 1965 Chevrolet car in the road, and a third vehicle, a 1999 Honda, was struck while assisting the occupants of the Chevrolet.
An injured Fairfield man was found outside his Chevrolet, and police say his injuries were deadly. There were two other casualties.
Police said the BMW driver displayed signs of intoxication, leading to his detention on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. The local authorities arrested him and took him into custody. The motorist was said to be a man in his 30s from Vallejo.
A public announcement of the Fairfield man’s identity has not yet been made. The circumstances behind this tragedy have not yet been determined.
