Sheriff’s officials in Sumter County, Central Florida, have claimed they are treating the death of a missing youngster as suspicious and are treating it as a possible homicide.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, 15-year-old Jontae Haywood has been missing since 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 15. The next morning, his disappearance was reported.
Deputies claimed in a press statement that they obtained information during the missing person investigation that the former Sumter Prep Academy student may have been shot.
Several deputies from the sheriff’s department arrived at the scene and started looking for Haywood there. It was said that his body had been discovered soon after.
