A deadly car accident was reported in Center Township at 6:28 a.m. on Monday, and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into the incident.

Serina Siano, 26, of Mendon, and Becky Fuson, 43, of Celina, were both injured in a crash early on Monday, according to a press release from Sheriff Jeff Grey. At the intersection of Rice and Oregon Roads in 2021, Fuson was driving a silver 2019 Chevrolet Impala when Siano, in a grey 2021 Honda Accord, hit the driver’s side of his car after running a stop sign.

According to the announcement, the two female patients were taken by Celina Emergency Medical Services to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys for treatment. At the hospital, doctors declared Fuson dead.

The press statement states that the Celina Fire Department and the Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers aided the Celina EMS team on the incident. The collision is being looked into and the results will be sent to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for further assessment.
